Rider Ryan Morais Injured AtLos Angeles Supercross

Rockstar Valli-Star Racing Yamaha team rider Ryan Morais was injured at the Los Angeles Supercross race on January 22, 2012. It happened in the first lap of the main event when Trey Canard hit a tuff block and was not able to jump the triple. Ryan was already committed to the jump and landed on Trey. Both riders were knocked unconscious. Ryan’s injuries were very substantial with fractured C1 C2 C6-7 T1, broken ribs, broken upper and lower jaw. As of January 24, 2012, Ryan is awaiting surgery to align his jaws and to wire his mouth shut for the next 8 weeks. He will also be wearing a C collar is keep his neck stable.    Read More...

IAN TRETTEL RECOVERY UPDATE

From Ian Trettel: "Currently I am doing therapy at Shands Rehab Center in Gainsville, Florida 3-4 days per week or as much as they can get me in. I'm on my feet 24/7 without any assistance devices and I'm taking small college courses at an adult community center to brush up on some school stuff to get back into the school community as soon as I can. I'm going to the gym 3-4 nights a week and I'm getting stronger. I still obviously have a lot of work to do, but I'm headed in the right direction for sure."   Read More...

The Road 2 Recovery Foundation is collecting donations in support of Jacob Morrison after a crash at Capeway Rovers in Middleboro, MA causing injuries involving a broken back at T3 and T4 and also his thumb. Jacob is an electrician by trade and also races professional motocross and teaches motocross schools so income is based on his physical health. WINNERS AT 2011 ROAD 2 RECOVERY GOLF CLASSIC AT PALA MESA

- On Friday September 9th, Pala Mesa Golf Resort hosted the 2011 Road 2 Recovery Golf Classic. The tournament benefited Road 2 Recovery Foundation which helps motocross and supercross riders who have sustained career-ending injuries. The event included 18 teams who battled through the narrow fairways and challenging greens of the Pala Mesa Golf Course.

Mission Statement

To provide financial assistance to AMA licensed professional motocross/supercross riders in the event they sustain career ending injuries. Alongside the racers the Foundation is dedicated to providing emotional and spiritual support to the families. Continue acting as a pathway for the motocross public and its supporters to donate funds to be issued to injured racers.

 

Vision

To become the leading safety research and education organization for professional and amateur motocross racing by developing partnerships within the motorcycle industry to impact track design changes and rider safety equipment for the sport.
Provide a mobile safety and education unit that would travel the amateur national circuit providing licensed sports doctors and trainers to those racers.

Provide a $250,000 insurance policy to the professional AMA SX and MX series benefiting a rider should they be injured
Become large enough to completely provide for a rider for the duration of their life if they are unable to generate an income
