On Saturday April 19th 2025, 28 year old Jerry Robin was riding a qualifying practice at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, when devastation hit. A big triple at the start of the rhythm section left no room for error. With the steep transitions of the supercross track he was thrown forward head first into the next jump. On impact Jerry instantly was paralyzed, leaving him with no feeling from the belly button down.
Following the accident Jerry was transported to Hackensack Meridian Health where his injuries began to be treated. His full list of injuries include fractures to the T5 and T6 vertebrae with retropulsion likely transecting the spinal cord. Non-displaced fracture of the right fourth and fifth posterior ribs. Non displaced fractures of the right fourth rib at the costovertebral junction and posterior rib, right fifth posterior rib and right sixth posterior rib. Additional subacute chronic bilateral rib fractures.
The start of his treatment included a surgery to stabilize his spine and remove pressure. During surgery Jerry had his spine fused from T3-T9, while in there the surgeon was able to fully straighten his spinal cord which is a huge positive. There were also some bone fragments that the surgeon was able to remove and some he left in. Overall it was a successful surgery and is the first step in Jerry’s recovery.
Jerry is a privateer athlete originally from Hamel, Minnesota. He has worked hard to chase his dreams of racing professionally and was putting in some great results this season. He has a long list of supporters including Estenson Racing, Mcginley Clinic Privateer Support Program, Nectr Energy, Fcc Motorsports, Mxculture, Mazda of Everett, FXR, 6d, and Enzo Racing.
As of now Jerry will need transportation to Southern California where he lives with his wife Jennifer. Thankfully Jennifer has been able to be there by his side since the accident happened. He has a great support system and is so appreciative for all of the kind words, prayers and support sent to them from everyone. As of now they ask that everyone continue to pray for healing and strength. Jerry will have a long road ahead of him but is ready to put in the work needed to be on the journey to healing.
