Encinitas, CA – As many of you know Destry Abbott, one of the most well respected riders in all genres of racing was diagnosed with Leukemia in May of 2016. He has started an aggressive treatment program that has him traveling back and forth from Arizona to Houston. Destry is doing everything in his power to handle cancer like he handles a race, by winning. His family, friends, sponsors, and fans have really rallied to support him in this difficult time and he couldn’t be more grateful to everyone that has pitched in to contribute to his Fight to Destroy Cancer.

With things looking up and progressing on the positive side regarding Destry’s fight, the news that the Abbott family just received is crushing. Charlotte Abbott, Destrys wife and mother of two (Kelsey and Cooper) has been diagnosed with breast cancer and it has spread to her lymph nodes. Words cannot describe the pain that this loving and caring family is now going through. Charlotte is the backbone of the Abbott family and has been with Destry every step of the way on his road to recovery. With her recent diagnoses and Destry leaving to Houston in a few days, it has put untold amount of stress on the whole family. Charlotte is currently undergoing test to see what stage she is in. From there the doctors will determine the best treatment program for her.

Road 2 Recovery needs your help. We have set up an R2RFund for the Abbott family under Desrty and Charlotte Abbott’s Fight to DESTROY CANCER. It was hard enough on them when Destry was diagnosed; having the family split up fighting cancer in two different cities is unfathomable. We are asking for your positive thoughts, prayers, kind words of support, and if you’re able please donate at https://www.r2rfund.com/da8
