Encinitas, CA – The announcement of Erv Braun’s passing on July 10th profoundly rocked the Motocross and Supercross industry as a whole. This was evident in the multitude of social media posts from people throughout the industry sharing their personal stories and fond memories of him. Reading these stories, even if you never had the pleasure of meeting him, it was made clear the positive impact Erv made on every life that he touched. With his quick wit and warm demeanor Erv will forever be in our hearts and the races will not be the same without him.

Erv suffered a massive ischemic stroke on June 6th, and had been recuperating in a full-time rehabilitation therapy center in his hometown. His around the clock care and intense rehabilitation program was only partially covered by insurance. To help offset these additional costs Road 2 Recovery set up an online fundraising page on their website and started requesting memorabilia donations from Motocross and Supercross riders for an Ebay auction. The direct link is https://road2recovery.com/cause-view/erv-braun-the-voice-of-sx/ any donation is greatly appreciated. The Ebay auction is expected to go live at the end of July or early August, once all the donated memorabilia is received. The funds that have already been collected and any additional proceeds from the Ebay auction will now go to Erv’s family.

The following is Erv Braun’s eloquently written obituary his family has asked Road 2 Recovery to pass along. This is an insightful peek into the man he was and so beloved by all.
