On Saturday January the 9th 2016, at the second round of the UK Monster Energy Arenacross Tour in Glasgow, Scotland, 31-year-old Daniel McCoy #65 was injured when he crashed over the handlebars of his bike which then flipped back on him. He was quickly treated by medics and then transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with T11/T12 dislocation and compression fracture causing pressure on the spinal column and paralysis from the waist down. He underwent surgery on the 13th of January to relieve the pressure in his spine so that he could fly home to Australia and he has now started an intensive programme of rehabilitation at The Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia medical unit. The Sudden Passing of Erv Braun

Encinitas, CA – The announcement of Erv Braun’s passing on July 10th profoundly rocked the Motocross and Supercross industry as a whole. This was evident in the multitude of social media posts from people throughout the industry sharing their personal stories and fond memories of him. Reading these stories, even if you never had the pleasure of meeting him, it was made clear the positive impact Erv made on every life that he touched. With his quick wit and warm demeanor Erv will forever be in our hearts and the races will not be the same without him. 7/11/16 – It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Erv Braun last night around 11pm.  His voice and his smile will be greatly missed.  Our condolences go out to his family and closest friends. Encinitas, CA – On Monday, June 6th Erv Braun, The Voice of Motocross suffered a massive ischemic stroke to the left side of his brain. As a result, he has lost the control of his right leg and right arm, and unfathomably, his ability to talk. On June 17th, Erv was moved from the hospital that he was recovering in for the past 11 days to a full-time rehabilitation therapy center in his hometown. R2R Donates $25k to Mobile Medic Unit

Encinitas, CA – Road 2 Recovery in conjunction with Kevin Windham’s Party in the Pasture donated $25,000 to the Asterisk Medical Mobile Unit at the Monster Energy Supercross in Anaheim Saturday night. The Foundation would like to thank Kevin and Dottie Windham for opening their home in November for an amazing Two Day Ride Day and Party in the Pasture event, with proceeds benefiting the  Road 2 Recovery Injured Rider Fund and the Asterisk Medical Mobile Unit.  Asterisk provides the very best trackside medical care to our riders, and the Road 2 Recovery provides for those same riders should they sustain a career-ending injury. Road 2 Recovery and Asterisk is grateful to the Windham family for their support of our two organizations.
